The assessment

Digify is a Singapore-headquartered secure document sharing and virtual data room platform operating since 2011, with a US entity serving American and Canadian customers. It claims more than 800,000 professionals across 138 countries.

Its distinctive feature is protection that persists after download. Where most providers control access inside the platform, Digify's rights management, screenshot protection and dynamic watermarking are designed to survive the file leaving it. Combined with page-level analytics and one-click NDA acceptance, that makes it a natural fit for fundraising and investor relations rather than large adviser-led processes.

For a UK buyer the notable point is residency. Digify offers nine file locations including the United Kingdom, and unlike most competitors that choice is available at organisation level on every plan rather than reserved for enterprise contracts. What it does not offer is a UK entity, a UK address, or sterling pricing, and its own published prices conflict.

Our verdict

A reasonable choice for a UK startup raising money that wants documents held in the UK without an enterprise contract, and the seven day no-card trial makes it cheap to test. Two caveats. It is a document sharing product with data room features rather than a transaction platform, so a competitive adviser-led process will outgrow it. And the commercial picture is muddled: their own pages quote two different starting prices, so get the current figure in writing.

UK presence, checked

No UK address is published. A UK telephone number is listed, but the only contracting entities offered are in Singapore and San Francisco.

Strengths

  • UK file residency available on all plans at organisation level, one of nine regions
  • The lowest friction entry here: a seven day trial with no credit card
  • Digital rights management that persists after download, with screenshot protection and dynamic watermarking that survive the file leaving the platform
  • Page-level analytics and one-click NDA, well suited to fundraising and investor relations
  • ISO/IEC 27001:2022 with a well-documented encryption architecture

Limitations

  • The pricing page is a JavaScript application returning no content to automated retrieval, and their own pages give conflicting figures of $130 and $140 per month
  • Pricing is in dollars only, with no sterling option
  • No UK entity, office or address: contracting is through Singapore or San Francisco, under Irish governing law
  • No SOC 2 Type II and no ISO 27701
  • Per-data-room region selection is gated to the Enterprise plan
  • Positioned around secure document sharing rather than transaction workflow, so Q&A and index management are lighter than the deal specialists

Pricing, hosting and certification

Pricing

Published from $140 per month, stated verbatim on their own virtual data room page. Plan names are Team, Pro, Business and Enterprise, but the pricing page itself is a JavaScript application that returns no content to automated retrieval, so we do not publish a full tier table. Note that a Digify blog post quotes a lower Pro figure of $130 per month for three data rooms, up to 50 guests and 100GB of storage. We use the higher figure because it is the one on the product page. Dollar denominated, with no sterling pricing.

What we could not confirm

Published openly, because a gap in the evidence is information too. Anything listed here could not be verified from a primary source, so we have not scored Digify as though it were true.

  • The full pricing tier table. The $140 per month starting figure is verified verbatim on their virtual data room page and is the one we publish. A $130 Pro figure on their own blog conflicts with it
  • The currency: a dollar sign is used but USD is never written explicitly
  • Whether an annual billing discount exists
  • Whether any UK office exists
