The assessment
Beamprobe describes itself as a UK virtual data room built in Rochdale by a small UK-based team, with the product marked version 1.0.
Two things make it worth listing despite its size. It is the only UK vendor assessed that prices natively in pounds sterling, starting at £0 and running to £249 per month, published openly with what each tier includes. And its data residency position is specific rather than vague: UK or EU storage, Cloudflare R2 under EU jurisdiction, Postgres in the EU, sub-processors named as Stripe and Cloudflare R2, and no US sub-processors for storage at all.
It is also candid in a way most vendors are not. Its security page states plainly that it holds no ISO 27001, no SOC 2 and no Cyber Essentials, and that its ICO registration is in progress rather than complete. That honesty is creditable and it is also the reason its security score here is the lowest on the table. Certifications are how a counterparty's advisers satisfy themselves, and Beamprobe has none.
Reasonable for a UK founder sharing a deck and a handful of documents with investors, where £29 a month and UK storage beat the alternatives and nobody is running a security review. Do not put a real transaction in it. With no ISO 27001, no SOC 2 and an ICO registration still in progress, the first buy-side adviser to ask for a security questionnaire will end the conversation, and that is a bad moment to discover it.
